NATURAL DISASTERS-CAUSE FOR DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY IN PART OF PALILULA MUNICIPALITY

Council members of the Assembly of Palilula Municipality in Nis, at the 15th regular session held on March 16, after reviewing the information of the president Boban Džunić on the situation in the flooded territory of the municipality, adopted the conclusions on the initiative, on declaring emergencies in all affected parts of Palilula.

"To be able to efficiently and timely react and apply the measures envisaged by the Law on emergency situations and thus help the local population to prevent the occurrence of even greater consequence and even more damage, it is necessary to declare an emergency situation in all affected parts of Palilula - it was emphasized in the conclusion of the Assembly.

Due to heavy rainfall at the beginning of this year, there has been flooding in several suburban areas and rural areas in Palilula, along the old highway, "Nis-Leskovac. Endangered are residential and commercial buildings, agricultural plots, local infrastructure and local paved roads. Although it has been almost three months, there has been no withdrawal of water since the water level rises every day. In specific cases, not only about the flood but in some parts of the flooded areas, have emerged also landslides, for an example of the settlements in Gabrovac village, Krusce and Mramor, which additionally makes the situation alarming.

This initiative, with justification, was urgently addressed to the Headquarters for emergency situations of the City of Nis, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Nis about the situation on the ground were informed also the competent authorized Republic organs and enterprises.
